ABOUT US

Southpaw is located at 1025 S. Sherman Street - just outside of Holdrege, Nebraska.  Our mission is to provide premium care for your dogs during their stay with us for training, boarding or doggy daycare. We offer spacious, clean kennels with Kuranda dog beds in each kennel for optimal comfort. We also have 2 fenced in yards for dogs to get fresh air and exercise along with 11 acres of land that includes a training field and pond. Starting Southpaw is a dream come true for us, and we strive to provide the same care we want for our own dogs. 

Ben has trained all of our dogs for the last 22 years and stepped away from being a Paramedic for 17 years to become a full-time dog trainer.  Ben is an avid Upland game and Waterfowl hunter and our dogs are always by his side when he’s out there.  Ben also participates in American Kennel Club (AKC) & Hunting Retriever Club (HRC) Hunt tests with our personal dogs. 

 Nani is a 911 Dispatcher and volunteers as a Therapy Dog Handler with Luna in her free time.  They are also the Official Therapy Dog Team for the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office. 

 At Southpaw, we want to give you peace of mind while you are away that your dog is being well taken care of. We look forward to meeting you and taking care of your dog in the future.
